{"id":7237,"date":"2013-11-12T13:39:24","date_gmt":"2013-11-12T13:39:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gtlwiki.genie9.com\/?p=7237"},"modified":"2014-04-09T12:30:32","modified_gmt":"2014-04-09T12:30:32","slug":"create-disaster-recovery-startup-disk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gtlwiki.genie9.com\/index.php\/create-disaster-recovery-startup-disk\/","title":{"rendered":"Create Disaster Recovery startup disk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In order to restore Windows ;and data if Windows no longer loads, users are required to create a Disaster Recovery startup disk to startup the system in Disaster Recovery mode.<\/p>\n<p>Two options are available to create a startup disk:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>USB Drive: Enter Genie Disaster Recovery using an external drive or flash disk.<\/li>\n<li>ISO Image: Create an ISO image, which you can burn onto a CD or DVD ;and boot from to enter Disaster Recovery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To create a USB startup disk:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>From the <a title=\"Genie Timeline Dashboard\" href=\"http:\/\/gtlwiki.genie9.com\/index.php\/genie-timeline-dashboard\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dashboard<\/a> \u2192Under Tools \u2192 Select <strong>Disaster Recovery startup disk<\/strong>. The Disaster Recovery Media dialog will appear.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>USB Drive<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From the drop-down list, select the USB disk.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>OK<\/strong> to begin the process<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>To create an ISO image:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>From the <a title=\"Genie Timeline Dashboard\" href=\"http:\/\/gtlwiki.genie9.com\/index.php\/genie-timeline-dashboard\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dashboard<\/a> \u2192Under Tools \u2192 Select <strong>Disaster Recovery startup disk<\/strong>.
